“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, ‘Your God reigns’.” Isaiah 52:7
I follow Christ, who is the “good news” … and I love to hike.
I am over 60 and realize that my hiking time is limited … but hey, so is yours.
Many people express an interest and desire to hike and backpack, but don’t quite know how, when and where to start. My desire is to encourage/inspire you to just get started … life is full of little decisions … make getting out to hike one of them.
There have been so many helpful people and “trail angels” along my 17 years of backpacking journeys. I have read so many blogs … all helpful and inspiring. The learning and adjusting never stops. I think I have a few tidbits that you will find helpful.
I have backpacked the West Coast Trail 8 times and am currently on a quest to hike the entire Pacific Crest Trail as a Section Hiker.
My other hikes and backpack trips include the Camino de Santiago (Spain), East Coast Trail (Newfoundland, Canada), Berg Lake Trail (Mt. Robson, B.C., Canada), Zion National Park (Utah, USA), Lake O’Hara Trails (Yoho National Park, B.C., Canada), Mt. Assiniboine Provincial Park Trails (B.C., Canada), Skyline Trail (Yoho National Park, B.C., Canada), and many other hiking trails in the Rocky Mountains in my home province of Alberta, Canada.
Other adventures include kayaking the Broken Islands (B.C., Canada); and biking the Camino de Santiago (Spain), the Greenway Trail (Czech Republic), and the Main River (Germany).
You have beautiful feet … USE THEM!
